Xbox 360 Experience dashboard - where are you?

November 19th, 2008 by Dan Ashby

UPDATE: Turns out it’s going to be released at 2:00AM Pacific time, which translates to 10:00AM in the UK - balls. Click to check out your release time. This means what I wrote below was a bloody waste of time…

I was up last night as it went to 00:01 on the 19th and fired up one of my 360’s (no, I didn’t wait up especially). No dashboard update. Well I thought maybe I was rushing a bit, so I went to sleep. At about 8am this morning I had another go - still no dashboard update.

What I’m missing

So my question is: When is it arriving today? Academic I guess as I’m at work now for the rest of the day, but I was hoping for a quick play this morning so I could get my Avatard* set up.

*I prefer ‘Avatard’ to ‘Avatar’ as it seems more appropriate.

Clonazepam overdose

October 21st, 2008 by Dan Ashby
Respond

I’ve been prescribed Rivotril (Clonazepam) for my bloody annoying Restless Leg Syndrome. I was given a recommendation to take one 0.5mg tablet at night along with my two of my lovely ‘make you feel sick’ Adartrel (Ropinerole). No difference was noted the first night so I decided to up the dosage to two and then three. Just these last few days I’ve been feeling really crap and now I know why. According to wikipedia, I find that ‘Doses higher than 0.5 - 1 mg per day is associated with significant sedation’. The side effects include demotivation and irritability, something that I don’t normally get unless I really can’t be bothered or  someone has annoyed me (ahem!) :) - It’s amazing what a couple (or three) little round tablets can do to your personality and outlook on things.

some legs that probably move a lot at night

I dropped it back down to 1 tablet and am feeling much better today. The other slightly interesting discovery is that ‘a large proportion of RLS sufferers have a “somatic dysfunction” at the lowermost level of the lumbar spine’ - of course I had a discectomy a year or so back, so maybe that’s it.

What a pain in the lower lumbar.

Little man, big news

October 3rd, 2008 by Dan Ashby

I haven’t posted for quite a while but just had to note something about our latest addition!

Our major news is that we have now adopted. Our new son is amazing and we are both very, very happy. Carol is proving an excellent mother (I knew she would be) and is loving adoption leave! The little fellow is really cute and has settled so well it seems. Katy and William have really hit it off with him which is especially important for this to work.

I’m very proud of Carol and everyone else involved for making this work. Of course, it’s very early days - but we have to live for this minute, and this minute is good.

I’ve added the excellent subscribe-to-comments wordpress plugin. I was finding it difficult to keep track of comments, and I hope this will help you guys and gals too. When you comment, simply make sure you choose to subscribe to the page and you will be notified by email when anyone else comments. The comments aren’t ‘threaded’, but they will hopefully be relevant enough for you to be glad of the notification.
